Carlton Menns, manager of the cookies baked plant in Mississauga (Canada)
Safety is the number one priority, and I like it to be the most motivating objective in terms of production. People come first.
How long have you been with Cérélia?
I started working at Cérélia in 2005.
Why did you join the company?
The first reason I joined the company was the product. During my interview, I had the luxury of tasting the cookies. I’m not a sweet person, but I remember thinking that I’d never tasted a cookie as good as that one. Since then, I’ve told myself that this is something I want to be a part of.
What’s your background?
I started out as a supervisor, then moved on to production manager and finally plant manager. I’ve worked my way up within the company.
What do you like about Cérélia?
I like the way the company has grown from a small company to a large one.
I like the idea of accompanying this success. It’s one of the things I’m proud of. We’ve gone from 1,200 cases a day to 5,000 cases a shift. I like the family spirit, even though this is a business. There are extraordinary people here. It’s a company where you can grow and where you have the freedom to express yourself, to put forward ideas and projects.
What’s your priority mission?
Safety is the number one priority, and I like it to be the most motivating objective in terms of production. People come first.
What makes you proud in your job?
I’m proud of many things at Cérélia. I’m proud of our products, I’m proud of the evolution of many of our employees over the years, of seeing them acquire new skills.
What’s your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge at Cérélia was to get all the different departments to work together as a single team with a single goal.
